If you have ever taken the time to listen to what Donald Trump has to say, you may have noticed how predatorial, manipulative, and downright evil his rhetoric is. As highlighted in this clip from the Daily Show, it’s not only disturbing but also undeniable the similarities between the alt-right and the Nazi discourse. In my world, words matter. Actions matter.

I personally have never “accidentally” given the Nazi salute, or the Roman salute for that matter, in front of the entire nation, the entire world. As a socially awkward person I would practice my presentation over and over again to make sure I get it right. Regardless of social ineptitude, the speech delivered by Elon Musk should have been rehearsed many times over due to its general significance in US history. In tandem with his failure to denounce his gesture as a Nazi salute, Musk’s history, personality, and self-appointed intelligence all point to an intentional publicity stunt. This salute has obviously been interpreted as a fascist gesture by both fascists and anti-fascists.

Having been through the U.S. American public education system, I was under the impression that Nazis were an un-American, despicable thing of the past. Alas, we are in a timeline where it is necessary to announce: Nazis are not welcome here.

With a variety of styles to match your mood, I have composed several graphics for you to post on your social media to denounce the blind hatred of the alt-right. I encourage you all to view our fellow citizens with compassion, because we have all been failed in the same way. Our leaders are preying on our poor and under-educated population. We all are feeling the same fear, and the ruling class wants us to direct it at each other instead of uniting to end their reign once and for all. Whether this unity is possible in my lifetime or not, I do not know. I recognize how difficult it is to see bigots through any lens other than disgust (especially when they insist that we and our neighbors are not humans but vermin or animals). However, pity may lead to compassion, compassion may lead to understanding, and understanding may lead to peace. For now, let your sphere of influence know where you stand on the whole Nazi issue (firmly against them).
