Cat Breakfast Series
This four part series combines two of my favorite things: food and cats. Having studied graphic design in college, the artist finds joy in designing fake product packaging inspired by maximalism and delight. Each piece carries a lot of fun little details. The longer you look, the more you’ll giggle!
Inspired by the notorious Cap'n Crunch who accidentally put only berries into his cereal, Bebe-o’s is the first illustration in the series. Instead of berries, it is bebbies. Babbies is spelled differently in three places on the cereal box to highlight the whimsy of the silly little names we give our pets. And of course there is an ode to Nyan Cat, the original breakfast cat.
The second installment of the Cat Breakfast series is Joose.
The original orange cat was part of a separate cat series, the Fruit Cats. The Fruit Basket included a watermelon, a pair of cherries, a strawberry, a blueberry, a lime, and of course an orange. You can find this rambunctious stinker in another design Proud Owner of a Stinky Baby.
The third illustration in the Cat Breakfast series is titled Loafin’. Cats have a tendency to hide their little feets underneath their bodies, creating the illusion of a cat loaf.
The final piece in the Cat Breakfast series, Catfeine, delivers the final punch line: Now bean free! Of course there is an ode to the great Garfield and his distaste for Mondays.
