Chuckle Tax
I am an artist who sells their art at local art fairs and farmers markets. I absolutely love when people see my art and it brings them joy. Sometimes it’s enough to draw people into my booth, but other times people laugh at my art, take a photograph, then leave. This piece highlights my distaste for taking photos of peoples’ artwork without asking or without tipping them. My art is pretty accessible and easy to understand so lots of people can enjoy it. Beyond that, I also post most of my work online either on my website or on my social media. However, it still feels wrong to photograph my art without my permission if you haven’t purchased it first. I can't pay my bills with chuckles! At least take a business card and pretend you give a fart.
This piece is a digital illustration drawn using Procreate on a tablet.
