Clownery

As a comedian, sometimes I feel like a little clown yee-honking around. Putting on a happy face and making people laugh is a lot of fun, but pain comes through in my artwork nonetheless. I have a small series of clown illustrations to help share this experience of duality. If I weren’t laughing, I would be crying!

This piece is titled Shampoo Lies because the bottle said tear free but I’m still crying.
Sometimes I am hard on myself for doing stupid things or saying stupid things or watching stupid things. This piece titled The Goddamn Moron is a play on the tarot card The Fool. Instead of portraying the fool in an unflattering light this piece instead brings whimsy to messing up. Ultimately, we are all just trying our best, regardless of how many brain cells we have.
Clowns have a notorious reputation of which some people are afraid. This may be due to the general fear of people in costumes but also because of the various horror movies with evil clowns. When I’m on That Clown Shit, I am goofy but a little mischievous.
Clown cowboys say yee-honk.
